i was glad to be in a place where things go missing easily
i bet she's in a restaurant under a heat lamp she had moved she
hates the sound of time passing
she never reads the articles, just headlines and she tells me all the things
that i told her yesterday but suddenly it's different because now
she agrees with me
she's always drowning in the water that she doesn't drink
she wears headphones to go to sleep
but she's not crazy
unless her mother tells her that she's crazy
she plays the same three chords faithfully
and at the same time longs for more variety
but it's better than being alone
better than being a bore
better to do what you think you must love than be happy
she takes pills for all the things that aren't wrong with her
just to balance it out
she puts herself in other people's shoes and she gets blisters
she's always crying when she realizes that they will never fit
she texts you late at night in a panic
i call her when i'm feeling down and the conversation's always the same
i sense that you are feeling down, am i correct in saying this?
is what she'll say
she will fill a silence, quickly and completely
she just wants you to always be happy
but she's not crazy
unless her mother tells her that she's crazy

she deserves real answers and clarity
which incidentally is exactly what she gets
and she loves to misinterpret it
because she's so scared of being alone
